No need to be melancholy about melons. These super foods are often overlooked and we need to change that and eat more melons!
Melons are in fact very nutrient dense foods that are LOADED with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Melons are chock full of enzymes and are as close as you are going to get to a pre-digested food. Try playing with a ripe melon in your mouth. You will feel how easily it breaks down so it can be assimilated into life force nutrients that are healing medicines for the body!
According to Anthony Williams, Medical Medium, “The fructose in melons leaves the stomach in less than one minute, then the rest of the fruit drops directly into the intestinal track, immediately fortifying and replenishing the body. Eating melon is like intravenous nutrient therapy.”
Melons have an extremely high water content so they are a great way to help hydrate the body as well. They also help the body to become more alkaline! Being alkaline helps to neutralize acid in the bloodstream, which leads to increased oxygen levels and improved energy and metabolism. Who would like more energy? Add that to all those nutrients and enzymes and you have a dynamic powerhouse of a super food.
Two ways we have started adding more melons into our diet is by adding them to our salads. I can’t believe I haven’t been doing this my whole life. Delicious!
Another thing we’ve done is instead of my hubby having a protein snack to recoup his afternoon energy when needed, he will eat a bowl of melon and it has worked wonders! When the body gets those nutrients and water in an almost instant and assimilable form, it peaks its energy powerhouse and BAM!
Here is another great thing amount melons. Due to their size and the growing conditions for melons, they tend to ‘soak up’ a lot of sun. The sun has miraculous healing properties and melons become containers for these rays of goodness. Consider them nature’s bowls of goodness for you! 🙂
Melons are a great food for anyone and everyone but they are also a good nutrient source for children and the elderly. Ripe melons can be easily chewed or even juiced if necessary.
Try incorporating more melons into your diet and watch your body respond with extreme gratitude and better health.
