The ‘Soul’er Power of the Sun

cutting board sun

My Mother taught me the lesson of how the sun can disinfect and kill germs, viruses and bacteria. To this day I put my cutting boards out in the sun to disinfect them.  A friend and I were talking the other day about her Mother’s stories from her youth in Italy and how they would wash their clothes in the river and then put them on the riverbank to dry and get ‘bleached by the sun’.

I am now  getting  a deep knowing and understanding of how important the sun is. I was listening to a video from “The Truth About Cancer” and they were discussing how our cells are full of light and when there is cancer in the cells, they are dark. Our cells need light just as much as they need oxygen and water….. just like …. wait for it…..

Plants!

No wonder living foods that have both grown from and captured the sunlight and water to develop are good for us! We are the same composition and we also thrive and heal and grow from the sun and water and oxygen. It just make sense! We are light beings.

It is very important for us to get sunlight’s ultraviolet rays. They are magical indeed. When I look at fruits and vegetables  now, I see them in a whole new ‘light’ pun intended. 🙂 They are full of the healing rays that we  need. We need to eat these for vibrant health and we need to be exposed to these beautiful, healing rays of goodness.

There are countries that use the sunlight to disinfect the drinking water so that they have water to drink. Both sun and water are very important for us. Unfortunately toxic sun screens often block the very rays we need to survive and thrive.

I personally am incorporating more sunlight into my wellness protocol as well as the regular use of my Far Infrared Hot House Dome.

A lack of sunlight can lead to clinical depression as well. There are countless reasons why we need sunlight and let us not forget how wonderful it feels to drink in those rays. I am sending sunlight and joy to all of you today and I hope your cells are dancing in the love!sunshine1

Dementia Doubling! Now that’s Troubling!!

While wearing my digitial marketing hat today, I ran across this article about creating web based content geared to the growing population of people suffering from Dementia.

There are some staggering statistics in this article. “At the end of 2015, there were an estimated 46.8 million people worldwide living with dementia. The number of people living with dementia will almost double every 20 years, reaching 74.7 million in 2030, and 131.5 million in 2050. There are 3.3 billion internet users worldwide, and as the number of people with dementia continues to rise, so too will the proportion of internet users living with the condition.”

The me wearing my “wellness hat” was quite disturbed by this. My first reaction was that I need to help these people.  These numbers are off the charts and way too high. Aging should be beautiful and graceful, and yet too many people are suffering from this debilitating disease that comes in many forms.

Dementia is a term that has a broad spectrum attached to it.  A person may have dementia and it could be linked to something as simple as a Vitamin B 12 Deficiency.   In a Harvard Health Publication they discuss:

“ More than 50 conditions can cause or mimic the symptoms of dementia.

A small percentage of dementias are reversible. Symptoms subside when the underlying problem is treated.

Two common examples are dementia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency or an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism).”

Some of the symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency in regard to both mental and neurological changes are as follows:  http://www.maggieholbik.com/vitaminb12.html

. apathy

. sleepiness

. personality changes

. depression (including postpartum depression)

Another big player in the prevention and treatment of Dementia are Omega 3 EFA’s.

From an article at Medscape:

Schaefer concluded that 3 or more fish servings per week or at least 1 fish oil capsule per day (greater than 180 mg DHA/day) to raise DHA levels and supplementing or consuming adequate amounts of vitamins B6, B12, and folate (to decrease homocystine levels) could decrease the incidence of dementia.
